A plaque commemorates the centenary of the International Red Cross from 1859 to 1959. The plaque was originally placed on a tree guard for a Claret Ash tree which was planted on the 3rd August 1959.

CENTENARY PLAQUE

Commemoration of 100 Years 
of International Red Cross  1859 - 1959

This plaque was originally placed, 
on the 3rd August 1959, on a tree 
guard for a Claret Ash planted near 
the entrance to the Greta Sports Ground.
Mrs Betty Saunders, a former president of the 
Greta Red Cross, donated & planted the tree 
& Mrs. Stella Walking donated the Plaque.
