The sculpture commemorates the services of the members of the Cohuna Urban Fire Brigade since its formation in 1922.

The sculpture was sourced from local red gum and carved with a chainsaw, the figure stands with a hose and branch as on many a championship trophy.

At the foot of the sculpture are a series of plaques dedicated to former brigade members.
