The bronze sculpture commemorates the important role that the draughthorse played in the Wimmera, with the horse being eminently suited to work in the wheatlands of the Wimmera and Mallee.

The sculpture shows a horse on a large boulder with a plaque which shows a bas relief of draught horses pulling a cart.
