In commemoration of 17th Australian Field Company Royal Australian Engineers
In the Second World War, the 17th Australian Field Company served in the defence of northern Australia (Torres Strait) during 1942 and 1943. The unit then served in offensive operations in New Britain (Jacquinot Bay) and New Guinea (Wewak) as an AIF unit during 1944 and 1945
