Federation Road

This park was established to honor airmen who lost their lives whilst training for active service at the Port Pirie Air School during World War II.

Right Side Inscription

This area was selected as the Commemorative Park for Airmen because of its proximity to a site some 100 metres north, where three airmen lost their lives in the crash of a Fairey Battle aircraft in May 1943.

The development of this park was carried out by the Port Pirie City Council and the Lions Club of Port Pirie
