The memorial which is a black three-sided obelisk with metal plaques, commemorates those who served in World War Two and was erected on the 50th anniversary of the conflict. It lists the names of those who served. 

"Australia Remembers, 1945-1995" was a program of activities organised by the Federal Government to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the end of World War Two.
