The grey granite column supporting a flagpole commemorates those who served in World War Two.

The flagpole was unveiled in 1956 by the Curran family in memory of Rex Curran, who died on the Kokoda trail on August 9th 1942, aged 22 . The tablet also contains the names of William Kilpatrick and Roy Mcinnes who lost their lives in World War Two.  An additional plaque containing the names of Peter Seppelt, John Walker and John Thomlinson was added to the granite pedestal of the flagpole in an Australia Remembers ceremony in 1995.
