The War Memorial commemorates the residents of Waterloo who died in service or were killed in action during the Second World War.  A plaque was added to the memorial at a later date to commemorate the 60th anniversary of World War Two. 

The memorial was unveiled on the 25th April 1947 by Major-General F.A. Maguire.
