The gates were erected to commemorate those who served in World War Two.

Beautiful memorial gates have been erected in front of the Soldiers` Memorial Hall at Lyndhurst as a fitting memorial to those who served in the second World War. It is hoped to dedicate these gates on Anzac Day.
