The sculpture "Spiral Ascent" by artist Graham Chalcroft, represents the flight of the Wedge-tailed eagle, the insignia of the Royal Australian Air Force and was unveiled as part of Ku-ring-gai Council`s Centenary celebrations. The sculpture commemorates Bradfield Park Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Station.

Bradfield Park RAAF Station was partly located on the site now known as Queen Elizabeth Reserve from 1940 to 1946. During that time, more than 200,000 members of the RAAF and the Women`s Auxiliary Australian Air Force (WAAAF) received training on their way to service in World War Two.
