The stained glass window commemorates those from the parish who died in service or were killed in action during World War Two. The inscription on the window is partly obscured by the reredos. 

Wallsend Returned Soldiers' sub branch yesterday decided to give £2 2s to St. Luke's Girls' Friendly Society for the purpose of having a stained glass window in the church. It was stated that 570 men had enlisted from Wallsend. The cost of the window would be £100.

A parishioners' tea in the Wallsend Parish Hall yesterday was part of the celebration of the patronal festival of St. Luke's Anglican Church. A stained glass memorial window will be placed in the parish church. A central window will be a memorial to servicemen of the parish who have lost their lives.
