The wall commemorates those who served during World War Two and particularly honours those who died in service or were killed in action during that conflict.

The low stone wall was erected at the Ivanhoe World War One Memorial in 1995, the fiftieth anniversary of the end of World War Two.

"Australia Remembers, 1945-1995" was a program of activities organised by the Federal Government to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the end of World War Two.
