Weinholt Street Avenue of HonourPrint Page
An avenue of bottle-brush trees (Callistemon viminalis) commemorates those who died in service or were killed in action in World War Two. The weeping branches of the bottle-brush trees were chosen to represent the tears of the mothers.
The plantings were organised by Mr O'Keefe who lived at 19 Weinholt Street in 1949.
The trees received recognition and signage in November 2014.
