The plaque commemorates the Darley Camp which was used to train women for the Australian Women's Army Service and the Australian Army Medical Womens Service during World War Two and was unveiled during the 50th anniversary of the end of World War Two. 

"Australia Remembers, 1945 - 1995" was a program of activities organised by the Federal Government to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the end of World War Two.
