Branxholme School Honour Roll Print Page Print this page

The honour roll commemorates former students of the school who served in World War One.

A bazaar was held in the local State school grounds on Saturday afternoon, and was a great success. The various Stalls, which were conducted by the scholars, comprised soft drinks, lollies, vegetables, and fancy goods, while afternoon tea was dispensed, and a fish pond also well patronised. During the afternoon an honour roll erected to soldiers who have passed through the local State school was unveiled by Mrs. M'Pherson, the mother of four soldiers, two of whom have returned wounded, while the other two are still on active service. There was a large attendance, and speeches were made by the Revs. Williams of Condah and Houston of Branxholme, the Hon. S. Winter Cooke and others.
