Shire of Banana Roll of HonourPrint Page Print this page

The honour roll commemorates those from the Shire who served in World War One.

A meeting of the Banana Shire Council was held on the 11th May 1917 and at that meeting it was moved by Mr Archer, seconded by Mr Barbon, that the thanks of the Council be accorded Mr John Miller for his services of erecting the honour board free of charge.

Moved by Mr Archer, seconded by Mr Roxburgh, that Mr Palms, of Hainault, be written to stating that the honour board generously donated by him to the Shire had now been erected in the hall and that the board was unveiled by the Chairman (Mr John Archer) on Anzac Day in the presence of ratepayers and residents. The Council now wished to convey their thanks on behalf of the ratepayers of the shire for the handsome gift.
