The wooden honour roll commemorates those from the Burnside District who served in World War One.

At Hazelwood Park, Burnside on the 15th March 1919, Col. S. Price Weir, D.S.O., at the invitation of the Burnside and Beaumont Wards Anzac and Returned Soldiers Welcome Home Committee, presented 83 silver medals to soldiers and nurses who enlisted from the wards mentioned; also four gold Maltese crosses to the following Anzacs:— Capt. E. M. Inglis, M.C. (10th Battalion), Pte. N. H Bradshaw (10th Battalion), and Pte. T. Atkinson and Dvr. K. Pitman, A.S.C. (late 3rd Light Horse). The District Council of Burnside took the opportunity to unveil a roll of honour containing the names of 280 men who enlisted in the district.
