The Soldiers Memorial commemorates those who served in World War One.

There was a large assemblage at the Soldiers' Park on Friday the 7th January to witness the laying of the foundation stone of a soldiers memorial. The mayor (Captain D. J. Ritchie), who presided, introduced the Treasurer and Minister of Education (Hon. George Ritchie), who declared the stone well and truly laid. The Minister said he was pleased to participate in the ceremony at his native town. The memorial was unveiled by Mr Thomas Goode on the 12th March 1921.
