The honour book commemorates former students of Wallington School and residents of the District who served in World War One.

WALLINGTON  On Friday, 20th August, an honor book cabinet and cabinet was placed in the local school by the residents of Wallington and district. During the afternoon a programme of races, sports, etc., was carried the out in presence of a large crowd assembled to do honor to the soldiers. The unveiling ceremony was performed by Cr. Warren, of Clifton Springs who was introduced by A. W. Wallis chairman of the school committee. Cr Warren spoke of the honors won for Australia by her soldiers, and for the assemblage extended to the soldiers and their relatives congratulations on their return, and empathy to the friends of those who had fallen. 

The Rev. Mr. Polkinghorne also addressed the gathering. The names inscribed in the honor book are:-- A. A. Ash, J. N. Bail, J. Davis, O. Harding, W. Pacey, R. Smith,(killed in action), H. Fox, C. Smith (old scholars); the other district enlistments being A. A. Vines, L. Anderson, C. Bell. All those present joined in singing "Lest We Forget". Mr. L. Anderson responded on behalf of the returned men. After a few concert items given by the children, afternoon tea was served by the ladies. A social in the evening concluded this most memorable day. The school committee are desirous of thanking Misses Pedersen, Bail, Anderson, Chambers and Ling for their assistance during the afternoon.
