The ANZAC Memorial commemorates the role of Australian nurses and the relationship between Australia and the Greek Island of Lemnos during World War One.

The memorial will incorporate two primary components, they being a large bronze plaque detailing Australia’s World War One relationship with Lemnos, accompanied by a bronze sculpture of an Australian nurse in the nursing uniform of the time.  The bronze sculpture of an Australian nurse of the era will be 1 1/4 life size and be standing upright adjacent to the marble plinth mounted plaque‚ÄčThe sculpture of a free standing nurse and plaque  serves to strengthen the relevance of the memorial to the St George Hospital and medical precinct.
