The hall commemorates those who have served in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved.

The drive for funds for the Meadows War Memorial Hall had realised £1,000 during the past three months the president of the organising committee (Mr. A. B. Rowley) said last night. On Saturday, as part of the drive, a large crowd saw a parade of bullock carts and farming implements, used in the district in 1840, pass along the main street of Meadows. The Caledonian Pipe Band and the Hahndorf Band took part in the procession, which was 700 yards long. Yesterday a concert was given by the Mount Lofty Choral Society in the local public hall.
