The War Memorial commemorates men and women of the district who have served in all wars, conflicts and peacekeeping missions.

The monument was dedicated during the centenary of Federation in 2001, and in 2013 funding was received to add a plaque commemorating the men and women who had served in East Timor and Afghanistan.
