The Coolamon War Memorial was originally erected in memory of those who served in World War One. Additional plaques commemorating those who served in World War Two and later conflicts were added to the memorial at a later date.

Today will be a big day in Coolamon where the unveiling of the district memorial to soldiers will take place. The ceremony is to be performed by Brigadier-General C. F. Cox., C.B., C.M.G., D.S.O.
