The roll of honour commemorates NSW Carriage Works Employees who served in World Wars One and Two.

The roll was produced by Carriageworks staff and unveiled by Commissioner for Railways Tom Hartigan at Eveleigh on 22 April 1943, and listed R. Thompson as custodian from 1944-1948. It was relocated to its present site after the closure of Eveleigh Carriageworks in 1989.
