To the memory of the fallen

Lest We Forget

Left Side Inscription

The memorial was developed by the Calliope Shire Council in April, 1994 following presentations and the provision of funds, from the Boyne Island and Tannum Sands ANZAC Memorial Committee.

The construction was carried out by local youths employed as part of a Federally funded Landcare Education and Activity Programme.

Right Side Inscription

This memorial is dedicated to those men and women who gave their lives for their country. 

It is not in the honour of war but in honour of the human sacrifices occasioned by war.
