The monument commemorates those from Rosedale and Tottenham who died in service or were killed in action in World War One and World War Two. It was originally erected to commemorate those who died in service or were killed in action in World War One. An additional plaque was added at a later date to commemorate those who died in service or were killed in action in World War Two.

The committee responsible for the erection of the monument in memory of fallen soldiers is at present busily engaged in burning off and clearing the erected site which has been dedicated for the purpose, near the station. It is anticipated that the whole work will be completed before the end of the present year.
