The War Memorial was originally erected to commemorate those who died in service or were killed in action in World Wars One and Two. A plaque was added at a later date to commemorate the fallen Korea, Malaya, Borneo and Vietnam.

The metal arch over the memorial commemorates World Wars One and Two and lists the names of the fallen on both sides of the arch.
