The monument commemorates those who have died in service or been killed in action in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved.

This new monument was unveiled on the 16th August 2009 and replaced the 1993 dedicated monument which stood in the same position. A plaque was added to the monument on the 18th August 2010 to commemorate those who served in Vietnam.
