The monument commemorates those who have served in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved.

The original war memorial gates have been replaced by three granite monuments.  One of the monuments contains the honour roll of those who served in World War Two, Korea and Vietnam while another is dedicated to those who lost their lives.
