The monument was originally erected in 1934 to commemorate those who served in World War One. An inscription was added at a later date to commemorate World War Two, the Korean and Vietnam Wars.

The Eidsvold district war memorial, a well balanced obelisk of black granite, was unveiled on Sunday, Armistice Day, by Mr. C. S Trudgian, district secretary of R.S.S.I.L.A. the presence of a large and representative gathering of the people, of Eidsvold and district, including a parade of ex-service men, and visitors from Mundubbera and Gayndah.
