The monument was originally erected by the residents to commemorate those who served in World War One. The names of those who fought in World War Two were added at a later date.

At the monthly meeting of the Murilla Shire Council, Councillor Millar as chairman of the Dulacca Soldiers Memorial, presented an enlarged photograph of the memorial recently unveiled at Dulacca to be hung in the Shire Hall (Miles). Councillor Mundell (chairman) accepted the gift on behalf of the council.
