The War Memorial was originally erected to commemorate those who died in service or were killed in action during World War One. 

Names of those who died in service or were killed in action in World War One are listed together with their regimental number, name, battalion, killed or died of wounds, date and place of death. Names of those who died in service or were killed in action in World War Two were added to the top of the monument at a later date.

Monument characteristics :

The monument is octagonal set on circular bases, flanked by two flagpoles.
