A wooden honour roll was originally erected to commemorate those who served in World War One.   Additional names from World War Two have been added at a later date.

A recruiting meeting was held at Stowport on Saturday night. The speakers were the Hon. J. H. Payne, Mr. Whitsitt and Captain Piercey. A roll of honour was unveiled. Mr Whitsitt and Sergt. Major Hines made stirring speeches and two recruits came forward.
