The hall (also known as Grove Memorial Hall ) was erected to commemorate those who have served in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved.

The original hall was destroyed in the bushfires of 1967.

This hall, built to replace one destroyed in the fires of 7th February 1967, was opened by the Hon. W. A. Bethune, M.H.A. Premier of Tasmania on 6th December, 1969
