The monument commemorates the 65 soldiers who died in service or were killed in action in World Wars One and Two. It was relocated to its present site in the memorial park in 1952.

The monument originally stood on Lake’s Hill and the foundation stone being laid by Governor Sir Francis Newdegate on 11th November 1920.  The Governor returned for the dedication by the Anglican Bishop of Bunbury on 11th November 1921.

Originally erected as a memorial to the fallen of World War One, it was unveiled on the 11th November 1921 by the Governor of Western Australia, Sir Francis Newdegate.
