The white marble obelisk with a broken column commemorates those who have served in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved.

It was originally erected to commemorate those who served in World War One, and list the names of those who died in service or were killed in action. A plaque was added at a later date to commemorate those who served in World War Two and later campaigns.
