The War Memorial commemorates those from the district who died in service or were killed in action in conflicts in which Australia has been involved and lists the names of the fallen. The memorial was originally unveiled in memory of those who lost their lives in World War One. Additional names were added to the memorial to commemorate those who fell in World War Two and the Boer War.

Plaques have been added to the memorial to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Battle of Long Tan and the Korean War.
