The monument commemorates those from Welshpool and District who served in World War One and World War Two.

Brig.-General C. H. Brand, Commandant, will visit Welshpool tomorrow to open an avenue of honor, and unveil a memorial in honor of the men from that district who paid the supreme sacrifice. He will return to Melbourne on Friday night.
