A tower commemorates those from the District who died in service or were killed in action in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved.

It was originally erected to commemorate those who died in service or were killed in action inWorld War One.

A start has been made with the erection of the memorial tower by the members of the Warrandyte returned soldiers on their purchased allotment overlooking the bridge over the Yarra--a very suitable spot. The structure is being built out of local sandstone to the height of 25 feet on a base 10ft by 10ft. At three parts of the height a clock will be installed, and under the clock, on the base, a gun is to be placed in position.
