The hall commemorates those who died in service or were killed in action in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved. The foundation stone was laid on the 3rd January, 1955.

A big move forward has been made with the building of the new Memorlal Hall at Swanpool. Foundations have been laid and it is expected that the front portion of the building will be erected before Xmas, which will be followed by the ceremony of the laying of the foundation stone. On Monday night next a meeting will be held to form a ladies' and entertainment committee. Mr. H. Williams generously donated the three wool fleeces which he exhibited at the Benalla show towards the fund.
