The monument, unveiled in 2002, commemorates Vietnam War veterans from Swan Hill and District and honours those from the district who served in post-World War Two conflicts as well as World War One and World War Two. 

It also honours women from the district who have served in war. The memorial lists the names of all those who served. 

The scene on the memorial depicts the Seventh Battalion being picked up by helicopters during the Vietnam War.
