The Memorial Hall was originally erected in memory of those from the district who served in World War One.

The new soldiers' Memorial Hall, a magnificent building, has just been erected at a cost of £3500. The main hall has been fitted up for moving pictures, and will also be used as a ball room. There are supper rooms, cloak and dressing rooms, library, committee, and soldiers' club rooms attached to the main hall.
