The monument commemorates those who served in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved between 1939 and 1966, including Singapore in World War Two and the Malaya Emergency and the Indonesian Confrontation.

Funding of $10,000 was received in 2020 / 21 through the Saluting Their Service Grant Program as a contribution for the reconstruction of the memorial.
