The monument commemorates those who have served in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved.

The stone base originally belonged to the Memorial Infant Welfare Centre. On ANZAC Day 1991, the stone was moved to the R.S.L. grounds and unveiled with the flagstaff by Mayor Joan Rowe.

Plaque :

This memorial stone was originally laid at the Shire of Corio Memorial Infant Welfare Centre Plume Street, Norlane where it was unveiled by Major J McK Hamilton MBE on 25th April 1955.

The stone was re-located to the Norlane Sub-Branch of the Returned Services League of Australia where it was unveiled by Cr. Joan Rowe JP, Mayor of the Shire of Corio on 25th April 1991
