The gates commemorate those who served in World Wars One and Two and were originally erected in memory of those from the district who served in World War One.  The names of those who served in World War Two were inscribed on the memorial and unveiled by Lieutenant- Colonel R.S. Ryan on Anzac Day 1949. 

The gates were relocated from the sports ground in 1983 and erected at the present site in 2003.

Narre Warren Memorial Gates

These memorial gates, erected in 1923 at the Narre Warren Sports Ground, were first relocated near to here in 1983 as a Rotary Club of Narre Warren Community Service Project.  They were re-erected on this site in 2003 by the City of Casey in conjunction with the Rotary Club of Narre Warren and the Berwick RSL.

The gates were rededicated at a ceremony held here on 15 April 2003.
