A statue of a soldier at ease on top of a cenotaph in a railed enclosure commemorates those of the Morwell district who served in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved.

Erected by the residents of Morwell riding as a tribute to the men resident in the riding who enlisted and in memory of those who made the Supreme Sacrifice in the Great War 1914-19 

This monument, with names on the East face also perpetuates the memory of those who paid the supreme sacrifice in World War II and Korea
