The Dennington War Memorial was originally erected prior to 1924 to commemorate the men of the district who fought in World War One. 

Plaques have been added to the memorial to honour those who served in World War Two and W.Carroll who was killed in action in Vietnam.

Mr Munro, who was Manager of Nestlè's Condensed Milk Factory at the time, was instrumental in establishing the Soldiers Memorial.
The Register (Adelaide) 1st July 1924.
