Photographs supplied by Sandra Brown

The Corryong War Memorial was originally erected by the residents as a tribute to those who died in service or were killed in action in World War One.  The names of those who died in service or were killed in action in World War Two were added at a later date.

The monument also contains plaques for Post World War Two conflicts.

The Corryong soldiers' memorial was unveiled by the Rev. J. R Crookston of Melbourne. There was a large attendance. Dr. Greenham, president of the branch of the Returned Soldiers' League, Cr. G. K. Jephcott and Cr. C. H. Waters also  spoke. After the ceremony a collection was made to provide money for the formation of a garden around the memorial and more than £150 was obtained. A luncheon was given to relatives of fallen soldiers.
