A monument commemorates those who have served in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved. The memorial was originally erected in memory of those from the Shire of Glenelg who lost their lives in World War One and World War Two. Additional plaques were added to the memorial to commemorate later conflicts. 

Monument characteristics :

A tall granite obelisk on granite base with inscriptions on all four sides of the base, set in a large paved area with gates and trees
