The Berriwillock War Memorial was originally unveiled on the 6th May 1920 by Lieutenant Colonel Williams in memory of 14 soldiers who died in service or were killed in action during World War One. The monument cost £400.

Additional names were added to the memorial to commemorate the fallen of World War Two and further plaques were added to commemorate those who served in later conflicts.
